About The Danish Healthcare Quality Institute (DHQI)
Together we develop the clinical quality for future patients
The Danish Healthcare Quality Institute works together with the entire healthcare system to ensure that patients receive diagnosis and treatment of high and consistent quality throughout their patient journey, and that we all get the best possible health for our resources.
By working together, we improve the healthcare system's quality in three areas of professional focus:
Clinical guidelines: provide a strong foundation of information and evidence to support decisions made during the patient journey, both within and between professional domains and disease areas.
Evaluations: The Danish Healthcare Quality Institute is required to evaluate treatment methods, including medical technology, with an emphasis on reducing labor and expenses and getting rid of therapies that don't offer enough benefit to the patient.
Clinical Quality registries: are supporting the Danish healthcare system with data analysis and reports to secure development and improvement of quality throughtout the entire patient journey.
Organization
The Institute is organized into a clear leadership structure with governance and advisory bodies to ensure effective operations and strategic direction.
The leadership consists of the Director, Jens Winther Jensen, and two Deputy Directors, one of whom is Henriette Lipczak, while the other position is currently vacant. The Director oversees the Institute’s administration and reports to the Board, which acts as the highest governing body.
The Board is chaired by Anne Jastrup Okkels, with Helene Probst and Jane Kraglund serving as Vice Chairs. See the rest of the members here
The Council identifies areas to reduce inefficiencies and optimize workforce resources, and explore the potential of health technologies to deliver greater value. It also proposes new clinical guidelines and ensures their consistent implementation across the country. The Council is chaired by Michael Dall, with Morten Ziebell as Vice Chairs.
The Professional Committee advises the Board on the management and development of clinical quality registries, including decisions on their establishment or closure.
